General Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services and/or Executive Director,

performs recruitment, staffing and training functions in accordance with Facility policies

and procedures.

Essential Duties:

1. Contributes to Facility quality assessment and improvement initiatives.

2. Coordinates, conducts and tracks Facility education program, including

mandatory in-services and nursing staff competencies required by state and

federal regulations, Facility policies, and QA-identified needs.

3. Prepares nursing schedule which adheres to the Facility’s staff-to-resident ratio.

4. Reviews and approves requests for time off based on staffing needs, as needed.

5. Administers Facility work rules, policies and procedures and collective bargaining

agreements (if applicable) in the hiring and scheduling of staff.

6. Schedules and conducts interviews with both internal and external nursing

department candidates.

7. Trains and orients nursing department new hires (classroom and floor

orientation).

8. Performs pre-employment drug screening, reference checks, and background

checks as needed.

9. Administers and tracks employee and resident vaccine requirements per

regulations and Facility policy.

10. Maintains records of applicants not selected for positions per retention guidelines

as needed.

11. Educates staff on required policies and procedures.

12. Maintains secure personnel records for employees as needed.

13. Reduces unscheduled vacancies by contacting available staff to cover shifts, as

needed.

14. Supports adherence to Facility attendance, paid time off, leave of absence and

FML policies.

15. Manages Tara University database as directed.

16. Advises the Supervisor of outstanding issues, potential problems, and labor

relations matters.

The Treatment Nurse is responsible for the skin and wound care of residents with an

emphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders. The Treatment Nurse follows

the established nursing Care Plan and makes appropriate adjustments as resident care

needs and/or physician orders change. Assists with the duties of the staff RN, LPN or

certified nursing assistants when needed.

Essential Duties:

1. Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care in residents.

2. Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders.

3. Performs evaluation using observation and inspection techniques.

4. Confers with the Care Planning Team in the development of the Care Plan.

5. Provides and documents, including staging and treatment of skin disorders within

established wound care protocol and monitors ongoing skin and wound

treatments.

6. Monitors the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and

positioning.

7. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in

accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the

policies and goals of the Facility.

8. Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and

other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of

the resident

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Floor Tech is responsible for the

daily maintenance of all flooring in the Facility.

Essential Duties

1. Provides a safe, clean environment for residents in accordance with Resident Care

Policies and Procedures.

2. Acts appropriately under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor.

3. Adjusts to changes in shift assignments to meet Facility needs.

4. Maintains clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.

5. Operates steam-cleaning or shampoo equipment on carpeting.

6. Strips, seals, finishes and polishes floors.

7. Keeps work areas hazard-free and clean.

8. Uses care in mixing water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare

cleaning solutions according to specifications.

9. Follows a regular maintenance schedule and performs unscheduled clean up

whenever needed.

10. Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately in a professional manner.

11. Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a

positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

able to bend, stoop, push, pull, and walk and stand for most of the working day. Requires

manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as fax, telephone,

etc. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. Must be free from communicable

diseases that pose a "direct threat" to the health or safety of others and which cannot be

eliminated by a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to lift a minimum of 100
