      <title>Staff Development Coordinator</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>Birmingham East is looking for a Licensed nurse who has experience in the SDC&nbsp; world and that is a team player.</p><p>General Description:</p><p>Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services and/or Executive Director,</p><p>performs recruitment, staffing and training functions in accordance with Facility policies</p><p>and procedures.</p><p><br></p><p>Essential Duties:</p><p>1. Contributes to Facility quality assessment and improvement initiatives.</p><p>2. Coordinates, conducts and tracks Facility education program, including</p><p>mandatory in-services and nursing staff competencies required by state and</p><p>federal regulations, Facility policies, and QA-identified needs.</p><p>3. Prepares nursing schedule which adheres to the Facility’s staff-to-resident ratio.</p><p>4. Reviews and approves requests for time off based on staffing needs, as needed.</p><p>5. Administers Facility work rules, policies and procedures and collective bargaining</p><p>agreements (if applicable) in the hiring and scheduling of staff.</p><p>6. Schedules and conducts interviews with both internal and external nursing</p><p>department candidates.</p><p>7. Trains and orients nursing department new hires (classroom and floor</p><p>orientation).</p><p>8. Performs pre-employment drug screening, reference checks, and background</p><p>checks as needed.</p><p>9. Administers and tracks employee and resident vaccine requirements per</p><p>regulations and Facility policy.</p><p>10. Maintains records of applicants not selected for positions per retention guidelines</p><p>as needed.</p><p>11. Educates staff on required policies and procedures.</p><p>12. Maintains secure personnel records for employees as needed.</p><p>13. Reduces unscheduled vacancies by contacting available staff to cover shifts, as</p><p>needed.</p><p>14. Supports adherence to Facility attendance, paid time off, leave of absence and</p><p>FML policies.</p><p>15. Manages Tara University database as directed.</p><p>16. Advises the Supervisor of outstanding issues, potential problems, and labor</p><p>relations matters.</p>]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>General Description:</p><p>The Treatment Nurse is responsible for the skin and wound care of residents with an</p><p>emphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders. The Treatment Nurse follows</p><p>the established nursing Care Plan and makes appropriate adjustments as resident care</p><p>needs and/or physician orders change. Assists with the duties of the staff RN, LPN or</p><p>certified nursing assistants when needed.</p><p>Essential Duties:</p><p>1. Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care in residents.</p><p>2. Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders.</p><p>3. Performs evaluation using observation and inspection techniques.</p><p>4. Confers with the Care Planning Team in the development of the Care Plan.</p><p>5. Provides and documents, including staging and treatment of skin disorders within</p><p>established wound care protocol and monitors ongoing skin and wound</p><p>treatments.</p><p>6. Monitors the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and</p><p>positioning.</p><p>7. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in</p><p>accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the</p><p>policies and goals of the Facility.</p><p>8. Provides a safe, clean environment for residents in accordance with Resident Care</p><p>Policies and Procedures.</p><p>2. Acts appropriately under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor.</p><p>3. Adjusts to changes in shift assignments to meet Facility needs.</p><p>4. Maintains clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.</p><p>5. Operates steam-cleaning or shampoo equipment on carpeting.</p><p>6. Strips, seals, finishes and polishes floors.</p><p>7. Keeps work areas hazard-free and clean.</p><p>8. Uses care in mixing water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare</p><p>cleaning solutions according to specifications.</p><p>9.
